Getting Started

How to Install the Add-in

  1. Open Excel and go to the Insert tab
  2. Click on Get Add-ins or Office Add-ins
  3. Search for "Excel Help Community"
  4. Click Add to install the add-in
  5. The add-in will appear in your Excel ribbon

Creating Your Account

  1. Open the Excel Help Community add-in from the ribbon
  2. Click on Sign Up or Create Account
  3. Enter your email address and full name
  4. Check your email for a verification code (OTP)
  5. Enter the verification code to complete registration

Common Questions

How do I join a group?

You can search for groups by name or create your own group. Click on the Groups section in the add-in, then either search for existing groups or click Create Group to start a new one.

Can I send files and images in messages?

Yes! You can upload files, screenshots, and images directly in your messages. Click the attachment icon in the message composer to select files from your device.

How do I create an expert profile?

Go to your profile settings and select Create Expert Profile. Fill in your professional information, skills, experience, and portfolio links. This makes you searchable by other users looking for help.

What happens to my messages and files?

Messages and files are automatically deleted after 24 hours for privacy protection. Your account information, profile, and group memberships are retained. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.

I'm not receiving verification codes. What should I do?

Check your spam/junk folder first. Verification codes expire after 10 minutes. If you still don't receive the code, try requesting a new one or contact support at support@excelaccessexpert.com.

Can I use the add-in offline?

The add-in requires an internet connection to function. You need to be online to send messages, join groups, and access community features.

Troubleshooting

Add-in Won't Load

  • Make sure you have a stable internet connection
  • Try closing and reopening Excel
  • Check if the add-in is enabled in Excel's add-in settings
  • Update Excel to the latest version
  • Clear your browser cache if using Excel Online

Messages Not Sending

  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify you're logged in (check the top-right corner of the add-in)
  • Try refreshing the add-in panel
  • Check if you're in a group (messages are sent within groups)

Can't Find Groups

  • Use the search function to find groups by name
  • Check if you've already joined the group (look in "My Groups")
  • Try creating a new group if you can't find what you're looking for

Profile Not Showing

  • Make sure you've completed your expert profile setup
  • Check that your profile is set to "Public" or "Visible"
  • Refresh the add-in and try searching again

Account Management

Updating Your Profile

Go to your profile settings in the add-in to update your name, organization, expert profile information, and preferences. Changes are saved automatically.

Deleting Your Account

To delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at support@excelaccessexpert.com with your request. We'll process your deletion request within 30 days.

Leaving Groups

You can leave a group at any time by going to the group settings and selecting Leave Group. You'll stop receiving messages from that group immediately.
